About The Pink School

A Little Bit About Us

The Pink School is a space for rest, reconnection, and empowerment. Rooted in warmth, inclusivity, and care, we offer holistic wellness experiences designed to support women and queer folk in slowing down and tuning into their body, mind, and soul.

Led by Ella, an experienced holistic therapist, energy healer, and yoga teacher, our sessions are always low-stimulation, person-led, and deeply nurturing. With a strong belief that wellness should be accessible to all, we create spaces where everyone—especially those often excluded from traditional wellness settings—can feel safer, seen, and supported.

As a mother with lived experience of disability and mental health challenges, Ella understands the barriers many families face when seeking community and care. That’s why The Pink School is committed to making wellness spaces welcoming and accessible for all, including parents and caregivers who may struggle to find classes that truly accommodate their needs.

Whether through yoga, healing sessions, or community gatherings, The Pink School is here to hold space for you—exactly as you are.

Our
Story

2013

Ella's professional journey began with a career in marketing which abruptly ended 5 years later with the first (of a few) mental health crisis'. From here, her own "healing journey" began. Absolutely inspired by alternative therapy she took the first step to retrain to be a Holistic Therapist. The rest is history.

Ella is neuro-divergent and lives with chronic physical and mental health conditions, it became increasingly apparent to her how inaccesible and ableist the wellness industry is.

2021

The Pink Room opened in 2021 as the UK's very first space dedicated to empowering women , queer people and making wellness accesible. Located in the heart of the city in The Corn Exchange. We spent 18 months smashing the patriarchy, supporting indie female makers and facilitating healing in our little safe space.

Therapies

We thrived together as a collective of practitioners with the same ethos - to provide inclusive therapies and strive to make healing accessible.

We were able to work with charities close to our hearts, like Shantosha Womens Refuge, Mermaids Charity, Refuge and Leeds LGBT Consortium and were absolutely stoked to receive funding from Live Well Leeds so we could offer reduced cost therapies and workshops for the people of Leeds

The Shop

Our gorgeous shop was curated with the most gorgeous stuff exclusively from indie queer and female owned businesses and was a sight to behold. It was a big 18 months, we went fast and hard with BIG dreams to make change from the day we opened - until the day we moved in March 2023 when Ella's own personal battles became too much to continue with the business in it's exisiting model. So it was time to take a break, ruminate and have another baby.

Hiya, my name is Ella (she/her) and I own The Pink School

Welcome to The Pink School—I'm So Glad You’re Here

Hey, I’m Ella—the heart and hands behind The Pink School. This space is all about rest, reconnection, and radical self-care for women and queer folk. I believe wellness should feel safe, inclusive, and truly accessible—not just for the privileged few.

As a queer, late-diagnosed AuDHD woman with lived experience of chronic illness and postnatal mental health struggles, I know how it feels to be overwhelmed, burnt out, and searching for spaces that actually see you. My work isn’t about fixing you (because you were never broken)—it’s about offering gentle, supportive tools to help you navigate life with more ease.

Right now, I’m slowing down to focus on my health and little family, but you can still find me teaching at Yoga Hero and Café Yoga in Leeds, with plans to bring my offerings online soon. Iam open to new projects.

A little about me:

🌿 Holistic therapist, energy healer & yoga teacher
🌿 Fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion in wellness
🌿 Sociology degree (Durham Uni)
🌿 MTI Level 4 Holistic Massage, Reiki Level 2, 300hr Yoga TT
🌿 DBS checked, mama of two, neurodiverse

And just so you really know me—favourite food? Salt and chilli squid. Least favourite thing? Unnecessary eye contact. Most joyful ritual? My morning cacao (yes, it’s bougie).

I’m so happy you found your way here. You belong. You are enough. And you deserbe rest.

What the People Say

"My favourite place in Leeds! I have had massages with Ella and Reiki healing with Frances and both are incredible therapists who take the time to understand your needs and tune into your energy. They are both super helpful and try their best to accommodate your needs and are super inclusive and attentive. I always feel so much better after their therapies."

Accessibility + Comfort

We always strive to use venues which are fully accessible, the accessibility of every venue is outlined on the booking page. If you have specific needs and would like reassurance that we can support them please do not hesitate to contact us hello@thepinkschool.co.uk

Gender Diversity + Trauma Awareness

Ella has a huge amount of experience working within the LGBTQ+ community and is incredibly conscious of gender inclusive language and accessibility. We are very aware that the wellness world uses a lot of language around the "divine feminie" and a lot of references to the womb, we do not use this vocabulary at The Pink School.

We are also aware that some aspects of the wellness world can be incredibly insensitive to how trauma is handled, as such we will always seek permission before giving modifications that use touch and only seek information about triggers strictly on a need to know basis, for your own safety.
